It’s like a Golden Gate Bridge / Bay Bridge hybrid. The light on the bridge is beautiful in the evenings and at sunset. One helluva bridge.
Walked across and back! Beautiful views, then went to Port Costa & shopped and had drinks. Excellent day!
Fastrak required or $5 CASH ONLY TOLL. No cards accepted & unlike Golden Gate, you won't be able to "pay-by-license plate" for one-time use on the Fastrak website. The attendant will hand you a toll violation flyer ($25 fine). The violation will be sent to the registered vehicle owners address & you can either pay the fine, or open a Fastrak account where the violation fee will then be waived for the first violation only.
It's the quickest way to "Wine Country" (Napa & Sonoma) from the East Bay. If you're not familiar traversing the Bay Area, I can see how it can be problematic. I never carry cash, although while living here, I became accustomed to ensuring I always had toll money on hand, just in case, because it's happened to me. So, rule of thumb if you're traveling to the Bay; always have toll money because it's called the Bay Area for a reason.
Even with inflation, I can buy something nice with $7 but I gotta spend to just drive through a bridge
Great spot in norcal to get stuck in traffic. Would give 10/10 for consistancy they keep with their accidents and constant construction. Can always count on adding extra hour of you have to cross this bridge on any trips.
I agree with Christopher- this is one sturdy bridge. Decided to drive a car on it to see what would happen and, sure enough, it held fine and I didn’t plunge to my death. Saw quite a few other people testing it too and they held fine. Definitely gonna come back next time and try my 18-wheeler semi-truck on it.
Bridges function good and my car’s weight didn’t cause it to fall. I also saw a truck go on it and it still held. I would say that both are pretty reliable and the chance of you falling to your death is little.
I was at creec Crockett Greenhouse under the Alfred Zampa Memorial Bridge. creec is a non-profit commercial sized nursery supporting local butterfly habitats and educating the public about living more sustainably and growing butterfly habitats in their plantings. Come visit and see the wonder!✌️💖🦋💐🌱🌳🌾🌄 …
Beautiful bridge traffic not very bad until u hit the tunnel then it seems like people get scared to go through it cuz everyone starts hitting their brakes lol
History of deaths.
Jumping off. Teenagers 5 went over bridge.. construction on ramp now. The Carquinez straights I are down below bridge. Dead fish restaurant up above.
Crockett off ramp.. Slow down.. tricky turns..
